The newly released Grok 4 version will no longer base its responses on Musk's personal ideology, marking a departure from its previous operating framework. This change comes after users and analysts noted the AI's tendency to mirror Musk's controversial stances on sensitive geopolitical issues.

The company identified and addressed several technical issues in Grok 4 through software adjustments, with details made publicly available on GitHub for transparency. xAI founder Musk had initially promoted the updated chatbot as 'truth-seeking and anti-woke,' capable of handling doctorate-level knowledge across disciplines. However, the AI's tendency to reference Musk's social media posts when responding to contentious questions like the Israel-Palestine conflict prompted the revision.

Technical teams conducted multiple experiments to isolate and eliminate the problematic response patterns. 'We observed undesired responses and immediately began investigating,' xAI stated through its official Grok Twitter account. The solution involved modifying the underlying instruction sets that previously caused the chatbot to prioritize Musk's personal viewpoints in its outputs.
